Preston Opera Company Information
General information
Preston Opera is an amateur opera company based in Preston, Lancashire staging high quality performances of opera and operettas accompanied by the Preston Opera Orchestra.
Formed over fifty years ago to promote the enjoyment and appreciation of opera in the North West, the company has staged productions of many major operas and provided audiences in the North West the opportunity to see and be part of this most powerful of art forms.
The company currently has around 100 active members, ranging from teenagers to those who would rather not say!
The company rehearses every Thursday evening at 'Carey Baptist Centre, Pole Street, Preston City Centre' and new members are always welcome. We are always on the look-out for chorus singers particularly tenors.
For those who don't fancy singing there are many other ways of getting involved as help is always welcome with make-up, costume, scenery and the many other things that go towards making an opera.
So come along and be part of a community of friendly people who love singing, theatre and opera!
