General information

Far too many people suffer unnecessarily with back and neck pain, and in particular Low Back Pain and Sciatica. This is without doubt a condition that can be resolved by the person suffering themselves as long as they know what to do and what to look for. That is why I developed my Personalised Treatment Approach, which led to the publication of my book “Low Back Pain & - A Personalised Treatment Approach” and also being invited to guest speak at the The Back Pain Show 2012 on the self-management of back pain.

The human body has an innate desire to heal itself of any injury it suffers, be that a cut, bruise, twisted ankle or back pain. As long as we work with the body, and not against it, your pain can rid yourself of this pain.

Approximately 95% of all Low Back Pain is referred to as being ‘non-specific’ in nature. By this it is meant that there is no one specific structure which can be truly identified as being the cause of pain. I believe that the majority of non-specific low back pain is a consequence of incorrect postures and movement patterns, along with muscle imbalance (tight and/or weak muscles).

By adopting my Personalised Treatment Approach you will be given a functional diagnosis, a prescribed exercise programme and a likely few modifications (usually only temporary) to make along the way. Most importantly of all though, you will be given a thorough understanding of why it is you have developed your pain in the first place i.e. the cause, which in turn will ensure the pain will not return at a later date (eliminating the need for continuous repeat appointments weeks, months and even years later for your spine to be ‘re-adjusted).
