Finlay and Son specialise in wood floor renovation which involves repair, sanding, staining and sealing of floor boards, parquet, oak, pine and engineered hardwood block floors.

We offer a wide range of wood floor refurbishment and treatments suitable for domestic residential floors from kitchen to living room or conservatory. This includes gap filling between boards and non-slip floor seals as well as supply and fitting of thresholds, beading, scotia and custom made fireplace surrounds. During restoration we undertake full sheeting and protection of finished surfaces to enable other contractors / trades to decorate etc.

Wood floors are naturally resilient and hard wearing, but from time to time may require a facelift, and of course for best appearance and longevity, then a continuing program of aftercare is appropriate.

After renovation we can keep your wood floor in top condition with cleaning, oiling, waxing and buffing and supply of top quality products for customers to carry out regular DIY maintenance.

An aftercare program is typically important where the appearance is critical, as with decorative hardwoods such as cherry, mahogany, maple, beech and teak.

Timber floors are mostly very accommodating to the stresses and strains of modern life and in very few cases do we see floors which are “beyond renovation”.
