Residence Life - "At Plymouth University we understand the importance of finding a friendly, safe, and comfortable place to live while you are studying with us. That is why we have worked hard to develop a residence life experience in our halls which we believe is of the highest quality and also unique in terms of the level of support, engagement and year-round, fun activities we provide for you. Living away from home for the first time can be daunting, but at Plymouth we make it our business to ensure that no-one feels alone. Our Residence Life team of Hall Co-ordinators and Resident Assistants are carefully selected to provide a network of support and friendship, with your well-being as their number one priority. When we say welcome to Plymouth University, we really mean it!

The residence life at Plymouth University is based on the idea that much of what students learn happens outside of the classroom setting. We are therefore committed to providing quality services that will enhance the holistic development of resident students in living-learning communities by incorporating staff and hall teams in collaborative learning opportunities.
Each hall has its own hall team who live amongst the student in halls.There is a Hall Co-ordinator (HC) who is generally a postgraduate student, and Resident Assistants (RA) who are current students.The hall teams all work together in creating the student hall community.They collaborate with students to create a variety of opportunities for residents to gain a better sense of self, their community, and the world.

The aims for our residence communities are to create:
- A community with purpose. A place to study and prepare for classes and an engaging community where meaningful relationships are formed.
- An open and inclusive community where freedom of thought and expression are valued and citizens are respected.
- A disciplined community where all members of the community are entitled to safety, cleanliness, quiet, and privacy.
- A place of compassion where each resident can have a significant impact in the lives of others and within the hall.

For this reason we guarantee a place in our halls to all 1st year students*, so they can gain the benefit of this experience in a safe and secure friendly environment."

*The guarantee is for all students over 18, who make Plymouth their firm first choice and apply before 31st July of their year of entry.
