General information

Many people find creating or changing a garden a daunting prospect, which is why I see part of my role making this not only easy but most important of all fun!

I work closely with my clients in order to understand their unique needs and expectations; this enables me to achieve creative and practical solutions through detailed and beautiful designs.

The great adage that you always hear about property is “location, location, location” but for a country house I would replace the last “location” with the word “setting”. A house without a well designed and laid out garden is like a story without an ending; never wholly satisfying. A great garden compliments a house and its owners, providing colour, interest and an ever changing backdrop that is an essential part of one’s home.

I believe that gardens and their surrounding landscapes play a vital role in their ability to bring calm and perspective to our busy lives. The space around your house no matter how large or small, should be somewhere you want to spend time, a peaceful place that you can go at the end of a busy day. Your garden is an extension of your home, a haven in which to relax and enjoy time on your own, to be with friends and family or in which you can entertain. So whatever the individual challenges of your garden, I would be delighted to discuss them and help you achieve the garden you have always wanted.
