The Volunteer Centre exists to help people access volunteering opportunities and place them with local groups across the Borough. Opening times are Monday – Friday 10am - 2pm.

Whether you’re looking to give your time, gain new experience or boost your own confidence and skills we have a wide range of opportunities for you. Helping at one of the Borough’s Sports clubs, befriending, conservation work, office help or dog walking are just some of the opportunities we have on offer and if you don’t feel able to make a regular commitment you could always help out at one-off event, such as a local fair or a fundraising event.

If you’re inspired get in touch. If you lack personal confidence, have a disability, a mental health issue or are put off for any other reason we can help.

The ASPIRE project aims to help people who would like to volunteer but have extra needs. We provide support to start a role, such as:
• giving more time to talk through individual’s
needs
• looking at more suitable roles
• liaising with a local group to help make that
role more accessible
• accompanying volunteers to their first
meeting with an organisation.

It's about volunteering in a way that you will enjoy and get something out of. So whether you need that extra support or not, we can help you find a suitable role.
