Pie and Mash has been a culinary tradition in London since the 19th Century. From its humble beginnings when eel and pie peddlers used to sell warm meals to the workers, shops soon emerged selling tasty and wholesome meals of pies, mash and parsley liquor, all washed down with a side of stewed or jellied eels. These shops spread all over London, giving Londoners alike, good honest and wholesome meals after a hard day's work. Today pie and mash businesses are still going strong and as a group we hope to share of our appreciation and love for this treasured London staple; and raise awareness for the continuation of this culinary tradition.
