General information
Voted Best Family Trauma Support Organisation - UK Social Care Awards 2017 (GHP Magazine)
The Lily Mae Foundation was set up in July 2010 in memory of a very special little girl. It was formed to create a lasting legacy to not only Lily Mae's parents and family, but also to many others who were not fortunate enough to meet her.
Providing much needed support to parents and families suffering from the loss of a baby, The Lily Mae Foundation:
1. Provide memory boxes to Hospitals to build treasured memories of their baby that will last a lifetime
2. Donate Cold Cot Systems to local hospitals to enable parents to spend more time with their precious baby
3. Promote research into stillbirth and neonatal death by offering grants for research projects nationally
4. Offer support to siblings who have lost a brother or sister, through our family fun days which encourage memory making
The National Charity SANDS report that today, 17 babies will die; all the tragic victims of stillbirth or neonatal death. This statistic is showing no signs of decreasing and for every stillborn or neonatal death there is a family that is devastated following the loss of their baby.
This shocking statistic, the loss of 6,500 babies every year, goes largely unnoticed by the general public. Stillbirth is still considered a taboo subject, making the grieving process for families a complex and difficult process. Most people think stillbirths don’t happen in the 21st century, yet stillbirth in the UK is 10 times more common than cot death.
The Lily Mae Foundation is determined to change public perception and raise awareness of Stillbirth and Neonatal Death. Despite its frequency, there is little public perception and acknowledgement of the rate of Stillbirth and Neonatal Death, and there is also a lack of funding for research into Stillbirth and Neonatal Death.
The Charitable Objects that The Lily Mae Foundation will follow are:

2. To promote and assist in research and the implementation of best practice to identify the causes and help reduce the incidence of the death of a baby in the uterus, at birth or soon after birth.
3. To make donations to other charitable organisations having similar objects as the charity that the trustees shall at their discretion deem suitable.
4. To make donations to other charitable children’s organisations that the trustees shall, at their discretion deem suitable.
