Heritage & The Family

Privately-owned by the Johnson and Broome families, Rudby Hall is a historic royal residence built in 1838 for the daughter of King William IV, Lady Amelia Cary and her husband the 10th Viscount Falkland.

Sandra and Martin Johnson, who bought the stunning Georgian mansion in 2002, have called it home for more than a decade and a half. Although in beautiful condition, the family undertook a meticulous £400,000 conversion in 2014 to restore the original features of the hall and give it a new lease of life as a luxury venue for weddings, events and private hire. The gates were opened to the public for the first time in Rudby Hall's 180-year history in August 2014 by the Rt Hon William Hague MP.
