Welcome to Oliver’s Fish and Chips, serving what we firmly believe to be the best fish ‘n’ chips on the entire North-East coast!

We are Michael and Helen Roberts, proud co-owners of Oliver’s – the Redcar fish and chips business we were inspired to rename following the birth of Oliver, the son we wondered if we would ever have.

Based on Bath Street, sandwiched between Redcar High Street and the sea front, close to the town’s new fountains and The Palace Hub, Oliver’s is a family-run business.

With a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, our 68-seat, two-storey restaurant and adjoining takeaway are big hits with locals and day-trippers alike.

Formerly known as Russell’s, Oliver’s is our pride and passion. Having learned the skill of frying from his father, Michael is a passionate fryer. We believe our fish – with its light, crispy batter – is unique. Our aim is to provide our customers with nothing less than the best fish and chips not only in Redcar, but along the entire North-East coast.

All our fish is sourced from sustainable and well managed fishing grounds.

Oliver’s serves fish of the finest quality, which is prepared on site daily and cooked fresh to order in the highest-quality beef dripping.

But we don’t just do fish ‘n’chips!

The extensive Oliver’s menu also includes an Over-60s special featuring a smaller-sized cod and chips. There’s also British classics such as fish pattie, homemade fishcake, spam fritters and jumbo sausages.

And then there’s lasagna, chicken breast, award-winning Peter’s Pies and chicken burgers and chargrilled burgers. We also do a small selection of vegetarian meals, hot buns, paninis and a variety of children’s meals to excite the younger taste buds.

We also serve a great range of speciality teas from Rington’s including freshly preparaed coffees and hot chocolate from our trained staff – plus a full range of cold drinks.

If you fancy taking a stroll along the seafront or if you’re just passing by, our adjoining takeaway has a wide variety to choose from – including set meal-deals, kids’ meals and not forgetting what we are all about – fish and chips!
