Dormanstown Primary Academy Company Information
General information
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Dormanstown Primary Academy's website. I hope it gives you a good insight into our academy and how we, above all, enable and encourage our children to aspire to achieve their ambitions. Our aim is to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment in which all our children receive a challenging and motivating education. We have 280 pupils aged from 3 to 11 and our special educational needs specialist high needs base means we take children from across Redcar and the wider Cleveland area. We are very proud of our academy, and are committed to pursuing continual improvement in our performance (working closely with our partner academies in Tees Valley Education, including Pennyman Primary Academy & Brambles Primary Academy) so that we can offer our pupils the very best educational experience possible. We are quite unique among primary academies in that we have special educational units alongside our mainstream classes dedicated to the needs and age range of our pupils. We have an inclusive ethos which means we work hard to integrate our children with special educational needs as much as possible, ensuring we play to every pupil's individual strengths and that each achieves their full potential. Our academy building is just four years old and provides a superb nurturing environment in which to engage children in learning. The design of the building means every area of the school is a learning area – even the corridors and our outside environment are used to deliver our exciting, enriched and creative curriculum. We have invested in the latest information and communications technology (ICT) to deliver the curriculum and support and develop children's learning. Our whole school community worked together last year to create the vision for our academy, reflecting our beliefs and values: Dormanstown Primary Academy exists to enable all children to realise their full potential. In our eyes, all children are achievers. We celebrate their individuality and always ensure our academy community is given a voice that is heard. By creating a dynamic, safe and stimulating environment, we provide exciting learning opportunities that develop curiosity, confidence and the key skills that ensure children are able to succeed in all aspects of their life. Respect and understanding are the cornerstones of all that we do. Our children know that what makes us different, also makes us special; we value our uniqueness. Happiness for all is the key to our success. Above all here at Dormanstown, we want all our children to be happy, secure and have a sense of belonging as they move through the first years of their educational journey, supported by us and you, their parents and carers.
