Stock and custom-made filter housings and elements for virtually any kind of coalescing and particulate application are now available through our global distributor network.

Housings and elements from Classic Filters are suitable for a wide range of coalescing and particulate filtration of liquids and gases. The company’s coalescing filters – which separate liquid aerosols and droplets from gases by means of a high-efficiency coalescing layer and a coarser outer drainage layer – will also remove particulates with the same efficiency as particulate filter elements of the same grade.

Particulates can be removed from liquid and gases with the Classic Filters two-port in-line filter housings and particulate type filter elements, in which the liquid or gas flows through the element from the outside to the inside to maximise service life. The particulate elements can also be used in single-port housings to remove solids from liquid and gases in end-of-line applications.

Classic Filters also manufactures fast-loop and bypass installations that minimise the time delay associated with sample systems. A relatively high flow is used to get the sample close to the analyser, before the low flow sample is split using the filter housing, with the rest of the flow being returned to the process. This allows a continuous flushing of the filter element, greatly increasing its service life as well as reducing the internal volume of the system.

Liquids can be removed from gases with porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membranes and housings from Classic Filters. These allow only molecules of gas or vapour to pass through and are suitable for protecting analysers and other instruments.

Classic Filters works with customers to design and produce housings to meet any requirements, and exotic materials such as Hasteloy, titanium, Monel, and Inconel can be used where necessary.
