Monkee Genes was born in 2006 out of the frustration of the denim market. It was time to offer something fresh and youthful to a scene which had become so disillusioned with the likes of Primark and other disposable high street fashion.
It was time to raise public awareness and consciousness. We are an alternative to fast fashion. We aren’t fuelled by an insatiable demand for cheap methods which leave a devastating impact on those who work in these overseas sweatshops and those involved in child labour.
It’s Monkee Genes’ mission to stand up against this exploitation with on trend, affordable and ethically conscious fashion. We choose innovative fits and styles in top of the range fabrics, from classic denim with a retro edge or a pop art inspired sateen cotton pair. And whether it’s your first purchase or you’re already a fan, you’ll be adding fuel to our eco-friendly fire.
