In 2005, from its base in Cheshire, Mercian Ltd formed a dedicated group of growers to supply the Pepsico factory at Skelmersdale in Lancashire.
In order to expand the business, Mercian Ltd has employed a team of industry experienced personnel who work in close partnership with both the growers and the customers. This philosophy has rewarded the business with rapid growth.
In 2011 Mercian Ltd is now the largest single supplier of crisping potatoes to the UK industry, supplying all major crisp manufacturers from all geographic areas.
A web-based system of load planning and scheduling allows growers, hauliers and customers to track deliveries and maintain the essential continuity of supply. A self-billing facility has just been added further enhancing operational flexibility.
