Wilmslow Wells for Africa Company Information
General information
Founded in the early 1980s by Brenda Mottershead, after she had witnessed first hand the desperate problems in African villages with regards to clean water, the charity aimed to raise money to build 4 wells in a small African village. Wilmslow Wells recently surpassed the £1 million raised mark and as we operate on a volunteer run basis only £9,000 has been spent on administrative costs in the charity's history. This means that over 99% of what we have raised goes directly to the African communities who need it most. Over the years we have brought clean water to over 200 villages using both British and local African contacts, giving clean water to thousands of people who would otherwise not have it.
