Our purpose is 'Helping to Improve Lives'

Here at Peaks & Plains we are engaged in more than simply delivering housing. Although the provision of housing in itself changes the lives of many, having provided a home, we want people to thrive in it and maximise their life chances.

All too often there is too large a gap between our tenants’ life chances when it comes to health, educational attainment, and access to jobs and training.

Our purpose therefore recognises our ambition to impact on these life chances and by incorporating the word “helping” we acknowledge that we can’t do this alone or are doing it “to” people. This is about helping tenants, their family and communities improve their own life chances. It is also about helping other partner organisations deliver their expertise to bring about these improvements in the lives of our tenants.

The heart of the Plan is the focus provided by our key objectives. These are what will determine how we prioritise our resources, how we will deliver against our purpose for the next five years, and how we will judge our success.

The three that we have established are:
