General information

Mackay Plant Hire was formed in December 1997, by Gordon Mackay, Penny Mackay and Jon Macaulay. Between the 3 directors they have over 100 years’ experience in all aspects of the plant hire industry.

Mackay Plant Hire started trading from a rented piece of land, a cabin and a spare bedroom in the Mackay household. The rented land was soon extended and workshops erected. The spare bedroom was replaced by a converted garage. This combination served well, until in August 2014 a new Workshop/Office combination was purchased, with ample space to accommodate our large fleet of equipment.

Mackay Plant Hire is proud to have a comprehensive selection of equipment, renewed on a regular basis, keeping the majority of machines under manufacturer’s warranty. The service team, both in the workshop and field service, are trained to the highest standard. All equipment is serviced/inspected on a regular basis, thus reducing valuable downtime on site.

Our professional approach to all aspects of the business shines through. Nothing is ever too much trouble to maintain customer satisfaction.
