BRC Ltd Company Information
General information
BRC was formed in 1908 for the manufacture of welded steel wire.
John Hall, who set up the business, acquired a patent to produce electrically welded steel fabric, for the construction of longer lasting roads and buildings.
Through years of success the company started to diversify the product range. In 1969 BRC introduced a high-tensile steel known as BRC Bi-Steel, along with the creation of Bi-steel BRC also ventured into producing its own steel from a mini steel mill in Stafford at a cost of £10 million (£160 million today). This steel enabled a higher design stress than conventional steels and meant big savings for the buyer. Considerable demand led to this product being used in a number of projects at the time including the Dinorwic Reservoir and Chelsea Harbor.
The company enjoyed its 100th year in business in 2008 and shows no sign of loosening its grip on the market and its stance on sustainability.
We are a tried and tested brand and are the go-to supplier for any major projects within the UK.
