General information
Sugarwise was started with the objective of increasing attention, educating and giving people options on sugar in their food and drink. These objectives are set to be achieved with the use of the Sugarwise certification, which is awarded based on the World Health Organisations guidelines on sugar consumption, of which 5% of our calories should come from free sugars (added sugars).
Sugar is directly connected with the increasing problem of overweight and obese adults and children. A big reason for this is that it is currently very difficult to have a low sugar or sugar-free diet. Sugarwise wants to change that, by increasing the number options and giving people an easy and effective way of identifying Sugarwise certified products.
