SBIC is located on the third floor of Broadstone Mill, an iconic former cotton spinning mill in Stockport with excellent links in to Manchester and beyond. The mill closed in 1957 and one of the buildings was demolished before converting the remaining building in to commercial and retail units, which still display many of the original features, such as exposed brickwork and vaulted ceilings.

Today, the building is used for a range of creative business purposes, and on the third floor, we have a range of innovative and creative businesses, all benefitting from the supportive and community-focussed environment within Stockport Business & Innovation Centre.

The Stockport Business & Innovation Centre project (formerly Stockport Business Incubator) is part financed by the Northwest Operation programme 2007 – 2013 European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013. The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.
