General information

Stockport CP Society supports adults and children with physical and learning disabilities, including autistic spectrum conditions to lead a more independent life.

We provide a wide range of activities and focus particularly on individuals with the most complex needs.

We currently work with over 1000 people in Stockport, Trafford, Manchester, East Cheshire, Salford and Derbyshire, providing:

Support in the community (domiciliary care services): regular visits to disabled adults and children to enable them to have everyday life experiences outside the home.

Day Services: To develop skills and learn new ones; typical activities include Computer Skills, Cookery Skills, Flower Arranging, Music and Drama, Photography, Art and Craft, Work Experience and Gardening.

Short Breaks: Holidays for disabled children, young people and adults. These are tailored to the individual, trips have included adventure holidays, outdoor pursuits and city breaks in and around the UK.

Disabled Sport, Football: Stockport CP has a thriving Football Project. We have 2 adult teams and a team for children. We play friendlies and also compete in tournaments.

Disabled Sport, Cycling: Stockport CP Wheelers offers 3 weekly cycling sessions for disabled children and adults, using a range of specially adapted cycles.

11+ Scheme: Community-based day trips, for secondary aged disabled young people. Past trips include the Museum of Science and Industry, bowling, laser quest, swimming, archery, indoor climbing and cycling.

ASD Youth Club: for children and young people with a diagnosis of high functioning Autism.

The Hub: Evening activity for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs. Junior club age 5 to 11, Secondary club 11 to 18.

Residential care at Cheddle Lodge, a purpose-built home in Cheadle, Cheshire, and Supported living for service users with complex needs.
