Small Screen Talent Company Information
General information
Small Screen Talent is a unique TV acting workshop for children and young performers aged 5 – 17 formed specifically to cultivate, develop and enhance the performance skills required in order to gain professional paid acting work in film, TV, commercials and other recorded media.
Unlike other drama groups and clubs, we don’t focus on singing or dancing. Small Screen Talent focuses solely on acting and the techniques required to bring a performance to life on screen; including improvising, scene study, filming, and devising. Alongside our syllabus, students are also offered the opportunity to undertake professionally recognised and accredited LAMDA exams in acting and devising.
We charge for our classes on a weekly basis – not per term. This makes it more easily affordable when compared to regular monthly or term fees.
We only work with young performers who love to perform and want to be there. Our standards are high but we recognise raw talent when we see it – which allows us handpick only the most talented students and help them to unlock and realise their true potential.
We have regular visits and workshops from industry professionals (all of whom have been DBS checked) including casting directors, writers and directors. In an industry where contacts are everything, this is a great way for our students to develop a professional network – a vital resource when it comes to winning paid jobs. This a great way of getting professional feedback and ensures standards are always maintained to the highest level.
Our drama workshop is complemented by a proactive and forward thinking agency – Small Screen Talent Management. Representation is offered only to students who have demonstrated considerable skill and commitment to their training and to those who we believe are ready to be submitted for professional paid work. Unlike many children’s agencies, we pride ourselves in our honest and open approach. We won’t make promises we can’t deliver, our commission structure is transparent and meets industry standards and there are no hidden charges or joining fees. Students who are offered representation will need to join Spotlight – the casting directors directory of actors.
Most importantly, as well as being informative, our classes are fun! The techniques we use to enhance our students acting ability has been proven to assist with developing future life skills including; confidence, creativity, problem solving, focus, perseverance, public speaking and non-verbal communication.
