General information

FiddleBop: jazz swing songs and tunes with a gypsy zing! Played on soaring violin; fluent, quirky and driving guitars; and earth-striding double bass. With graceful vocal harmonies and the occasional excited squeak or bellow. All with passion, fire and energy, and the odd dash of humour. Because we love making music!

There are four FiddleBoppers:
* Dave Favis-Mortlock plays violin (fiddle) and sings
* Jo Davies plays rhythm guitar and sings
* Roger Davis plays double bass
* Martin Crowder plays guitar, banjo, and sings.

FiddleBop's sets include standards (and less well-known numbers too) from all periods of jazz. Black Bottom and The Charleston from the early years; Ain't Misbehavin' and Night and Day from the swing era; gypsy jazz classics by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli; boppish compositions by Charlie Parker and John Coltrane; and our own material.
