Pure Physiotherapy City Road Norwich clinic Company Information
General information
Pure Physiotherapy offers the highest quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Our Clinicians work with elite professional athletes such as the European PGA Golf Tour and national sports teams.
Pure Physiotherapy also helps many patients sent to our specialist clinics from GP’s and medical consultants as well as ‘self referrals’ (no medical referral required).
Pure Physiotherapy clinics are recommended by all major insurance companies such as BUPA, AXA and AVIVA. Schemes such as Simply Health and Westfield also enable patients to offset the treatment costs.
The Pure Physiotherapy ethos and concept was developed in 1998 and the key principles hold true to this day. Pure Physiotherapy approach for assessment and treatment is based on 4 key principles which we apply to all the patients we see.
1. Rapid and accurate diagnosis
Vital to ensuring the right problem has been identified and treated.
“We have been really lucky at Pure Physiotherapy as our reputation means that we often get referral from patients who have come for a second opinion of their problem (usually because it has not responded to a particular treatment approach: medical, chiropractic, osteopathic or other physio treatment) the most common reason I find for ‘failed’ treatment is a poor initial assessment. If you don’t get the assessment right and identify the specific dysfunction or diagnosis then the rest of the sessions are pointless. After all if you don’t know what the problems is being caused by how can you treat it effectively? If you are seeing a health professional then they should be able to tell you what the diagnosis is and the researched backed tests and reasoning as to how they have reached that diagnosis. All the specialists at Pure Physiotherapy are focused on the assessment being deduced form the clinical presentation through questioning, observation, clinical tests and response to intervention.”

2. Development of a progressive treatment/rehabilitation program with the patient’s goals as key drivers.
Once an accurate diagnosis has been made a program of treatment is formulated to address the dysfunction. The specific lifestyle, occupation and hobbies of the patient need to be taken into account as this will affect how the program is balanced to allow each patient goals to be achieved as quickly as possible.
“Being able to progress the intervention as the condition responds and improves is vital. Just keeping on with the same treatments from the first sessions onwards is not good enough as the speed of recovery will slow if the treatment approaches don’t progress with the recovery.”

3. Regular re-assessment throughout the treatment to ensure correct progress is being made.
There is no such thing as the perfect person and everyone gets something wrong once in a while. To ensure the risk of misdiagnosis is minimized and to ensure the speed of recovery is as rapid as possible all the Pure Physiotherapy specialists re-assess patients as the treatment progresses to continually evaluate whether there is any other ways which can be used to speed up recovery.
“Pure Physiotherapy has a wide range of specialist physios working across the clinical sites this means getting a second opinion on the occasional tricky case is easy. We have weekly case conferences to ensure all angles have been considered in a patient’s management. Knowing there are other highly specialist physiotherapists available to call on at a moments notice is great, and really makes sure we can deliver the best quality at all times”

4. Ongoing advice, exercises and support to prevent re-occurrence.
Once a patient has completed a course of treatment and recovered they are always given advice and exercises to minimize the chance of re-occurrence. Each Pure Physiotherapy patient is given a direct line number to their physiotherapist (rather than going through the central clinic). This enable ongoing phone, e-mail support to be offer if required.
“I am convinced the reason Pure Physiotherapy is doing so well is not just because of the results and no-nonsense treatment approach, but also the way in which our physiotherapists work with patients. ‘We want the results as much as you.’ We often liaise with patients GPs and consultants (NHS and private sector) to ensure the best possible package of care is being deliver on all fronts.”
