The Bridge for Heroes - Armed Forces Contact Centre Company Information
General information
No other group is more vulnerable to developing PTSD than the military. Often, fear memories can become distorted and distort other memories associated with the experience. Sufferers don't wish to be reminded of them and do not feel like anyone can understand what they've gone through, which leads to a sense of isolation. Isolation keeps the sufferer from their family, friends and counsellors. The Bridge for Heroes provides a pressure free environment, a stimulating atmosphere. The Centre encompasses a charity shop, museum area, group lounge area and a private therapy room. If socialising is a little overwhelming straight away, Sharon and her team of liaison officers are available via email on the phone. A wide range of support, guidance and advice is given on issues such as Service Records, Housing, Readjustment, Respite, Medal Applications, Finance and more. There are no waiting lists for any beneficiary, direct and immediate support is part of our ethos. The charity currently has held over 10000 support sessions since opening for serving, veterans of HM Armed Forces and their families. The number of people needing help indirectly is immeasurable. If you know of or would like to find out of any Military Connections in your family, please feel free to drop by the Contact Centre.
