The Yewdale Inn is situated in the very centre of Coniston in the heart of the Lake District. Coniston was voted the UK’s top walking destination in 2009 so the Inn is an ideal base from which to enjoy the surrounding countryside. Fishing, sailing, kayaking, cycling and pony trekking are all available on or around Coniston Water and those with energy to spare can tackle the climb up the 2,600’ Old Man of Coniston. The Ruskin Museum in the village celebrates history of Coniston and famous Victorian artist John Ruskin, and there is the steamboat trip that calls off at various points around the beautiful Lake with its stunning views of the Lakeland fells.
