The Music Development

General information

The Music Development was established in September 2005 and has continued to offer the local community a wide range of musical projects to aid musical education. We offer professional music tuition on all instruments, music theory and many opportunities for young musicians to perform.

We are currently looking for a piano tutor to teach ABRSM, Trinity and Rockshool grades 1-8. You should be well presented, easy going and be able to work individually and as part of a team. Teaching experience is preferred although training will be given. Ba hons Music, Piano grade 8, music theory grade 5 are essential. Position will start in September 2013, closing date 31st July.

Music Theory
Music theory is the understanding of music notation combining composition abilities. This is always a great way for students to enhance and reaffirm their technical understanding of music as a whole and begin to apply their knowledge. We hold a theory class every week that has a 100% pass rate. We specialise in the ABRSM grade 1-5, in most cases we help students reach grade 5 within a year. Students who achieve this have and show a greater understanding of music and will stand out in their school music class.

Performance
Performance is the greatest way to inspire and build confidence with young musicians. Allowing us to share their talent with our growing audience and give them the satisfaction of succeeding on their chosen instrument. The Music Development holds performances at the end of each term to help show the progression of our students. This has also proved an excellent way to aid students who are taking graded examinations on their chosen instrument and to share their talent with friends and family. We try to include as many young musicians as possible.

The line up includes solo performances and our rock band projects. Professional musicians will back students taking part in the Solo performances. Rock Band project We have been running this project for many years now and continue to offer a great experience for musicians looking to perform with other students. We have ten rehearsals each term, a performance and record once a year. We have composed our own material as well as covered our favourite bands.
