Brotherton Park & Dibbinsdale Local Nature Reserve Company Information
General information
Dibbinsdale is a Local Nature Reserve in the Bromborough area of the Wirral. The location is rich with both unique conservation value - hosting areas of ancient woodland, willow carr, reed beds and wild flower meadows - and historical value, with areas associated with the Victorian estate such as managed parkland, a walled garden and a (now private) servants quarters. There is also a visitor centre located on site, as well as an outdoor Teaching area within the Walled Garden area within the site. There is access to the park from many different locations, including next to Bromborough Rake train station and Spital train station. The site itself is perfect for walking (with or without dogs), birdwatching, photography or other activities.
The Friends of Dibbinsdale are a Voluntary group, with the goal of managing, improving, and supporting the reserve. Its aims are to encourage the conservation and protection of the Reserve by developing public interest in its unique habitat and maintaining an excellent and interesting environment where recreation, teaching and training can take place. This includes frequent conservation work, community events (such as fairs or barbeques) and educational events such as Bat Walks, Bug Hunts, or Bird Watching, for both the public and school or community groups. Some friends also support the reserve by actively participating in its maintenance by volunteering to help the ranger.
This page will mostly be used for raising awareness of current or future events, posting updates on Voluntary conservation efforts, news about the site or Ranger service there, and discussion of events and activities at Dibbinsdale LNR.
For any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Friends through the website, the email addresses provided, or message us through Facebook.
The ‘Friends of Dibbinsdale’ is a registered charity.
