General information

In July 2013, just a year after opening we were awarded with the title of being one of the 50 Best Fish and Chip Shops in the UK 2013. We were tested on customer service, the visual aesthetics of our establishment and the quality of the products we serve. We got a mystery dining score of 99% so were pretty chuffed! We also won the accolade in 2014 and 2015!

Our aim is to always cook with the best quality, freshest ingredients to produce a delicious takeaway. We cook all our fish to order and know you won't mind waiting the few minutes for fresh fish and chips. We offer Haddock and cod as our main fish but look out for specials coming soon!

After much research we chose to use Carofry - a healthier oil, with no cholesterol, it is virtually trans-fat free, non-hydrogenated and environmentally sustainable, coming from dedicated plantations that have never been habitats for endangered animals. It contains Pro-Vitamin A and Vitamin E and has heart-friendly anti-oxidants. Who knew fish and chips could be so healthy and still so tasty?!

In September 2012 , we became the first Fish and Chip shop in Huddersfield to win a Gold Healthy Choice Award from Kirklees Council because of all the healthy options on our menu. Alongside a traditional fish and chip shop menu, we offer low fat and reduced salt and sugar options, as well as poached fish and mixed veg and sweetcorn as an alternative side. In our fridge you'll also find fruit, water and fruit juice next to all the fizzy drinks!

We're now offering Gluten Free fish and chips on Thursday-Saturday 4pm -close so that even people with gluten intolerance can enjoy our unique great taste! At other times, for two or more portions of gluten free food please call us half an hour in advance.

All of our fish is bought from MSC certified suppliers as sustainability is very important to us. We are working to reduce our carbon footprint further by changing our packaging and practices.

Our monthly specials are another one of the reasons we're miles apart from most. People come back again and again for our Granny's Spicy Scallop, battered halloumi, saveloys, home-made chicken nuggets and cheese n onion bites.
