SIRPA was established in 2010 by UK Physiotherapist, Georgie Oldfield MCSP, to train Health Professionals to address the epidemic of chronic pain and other chronic conditions without using drugs, physical interventions or surgery.
The concept on which the SIRPA approach is based is that chronic pain is created unconsciously and automatically by the brain and central nervous system as a protective, stress-processing response.
As the process is reversible, full recovery is possible. SIRPA provides an educational and self-empowering approach that empowers people living with chronic pain to become active and pain free and to regain their zest for life.
