F R Scott was founded in 1945 by Fred Scott, as a heating engineers and ironmongers. The two sides of the business have run alongside each other in various locations across Hull but since the early 1980’s they have been based in a 30,000 sq ft warehouse in the heart of Hull City Centre.
The ironmongery side of the business is still thriving – supplying businesses across the region, large and small. Carrying 20,000 plus items on the shelf, allowing a quick response to customer needs.
The heating department offers a wide range of services around the installation and maintenance of commercial heating systems. Much of the work is done for local authorities, including schools and similar government properties.
Both sides of the business offer excellent service – with the average length of employee service being over 15 years, with many employees having served 30 years plus - giving a solid base of highly experienced, knowledgeable staff.
The company is still family owned, being run by Fred’s Grandson and Great Grandson.
