The Parish of Hemingford Grey, which has a population of about 2,500, is situated on the southern bank of the River Great Ouse in the Huntingdonshire District of the county of Cambridgeshire.
It adjoins Hemingford Abbots to the west and St Ives on the north bank of the river. To the east is Fenstanton and to the south Hilton. The A14 trunk road passes through the parish about a mile south of the main settlement. There is a bus service to St Ives and Cambridge (via the guided busway) and to Huntingdon and its railway station, with regular trains to London and, via Peterborough, to the north.
