General information

Steephill is a unique school, it offers an education of high standards and expectations but it is small, rural and friendly.

The school was judged ‘excellent’ in curriculum, extra-curricular, pastoral, social, moral, spiritual and cultural care in its most recent ISI Inspection (2012); and with small classes of no more than 16 pupils, Steephill provides an environment where each child can truly flourish.

We offer as many learning experiences as we can and we endeavour to make those experiences relevant and fun.

We are keen that all the children understand what it is to be a good friend and a good neighbour, in the widest context, and the importance of high standards of behaviour and endeavour.

We are a mixed ability school and therefore work hard to support all children academically and also in the wider curriculum such as sport and the arts.

We have a thriving music department and were a multiple winner at Gravesend Arts Festival (,2012,2013, 2014,2015).

Our great results demonstrate the success of our pupils year after year. We are very proud of our 11+ results, with a pass rate of over 72% for the past 10 years.
