Adventure Based Learning

General information

Adventure-Based Learning uses experiential learning (learning by experience) and the excitement of trying something new, to further support the concept that people learn most effectively when they:
•are having fun
•are interested in what they are learning
•are actively participating in their learning
•feel a sense of control over what they are learning
•reflect on the experience afterward
•make connections to other learning and life situations.

Adventure Based Learning is a Community Interest Company existing to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to access funding and undertake fundraising activities which enable North West schools, Community groups, vulnerable adults and young people and those not normally able to access such resources access to adventure based learning and adventure based activities. In Particular:

•Young people who have not normally been able to partake in outdoor Adventure Based Learning.
•Adults with learning / physical disabilities
•Victims of Crime
•Adults with supported housing needs
•Young Unemployed Adults (NEETS)
•Unemployed Adults -
•Children in care / fostering system
•Children with learning / physical disabilities

We regularly deliver public taster sessions for a range of outdoor activities as well as training and skills courses to promote and fund our organisations aims and objectives.
