Sports&social Club EDF Energy

General information

The EDF Energy (Barnwood) Sports and Social Club is run for the benefit of staff and contractors who are employed at Barnwood and their families. Associate membership is also available to others by invitation.

There are a wide range of sporting sections some of which are run on site; Tennis, Bowls, Fitness Training and Rifle & Pistol. Others such as; Badminton, Cricket, Golf, 5-a-side Football and Swimming use off site facilities.

Regular weekly Yoga and Aerobics classes are held in the S&SC Club House at lunchtime. The Music Group and Table Tennis also have regular lunchtime meetings there.

A variety of lunchtime sales are organised in the Restaurant and personnel at Barnwood are able to benefit from suppliers such as Book Events who offer recent publications at a much reduced price.

On site we have a Gym for our healthy co-workers and a garage with inspection pit for our more mechanical colleagues. Situated near the garage is our motor and tool hire section who hire out a variety of items i.e. carpet cleaner, hedge trimmer and concrete mixer.

We also support sections such as Bridge, Chess, Drama and the Barnwood Industrial Archaeology and Transport Society.
