Molly Vickers School of Dance

General information

The Molly Vickers School of Dance was established in Stevenage in 1967 and produces a dance display at the Gordon Craig Theatre every two years with everyone in the school who so wishes taking part. All profits from each show go to registered charities. The school has given over £34,000 to various charities during the past years.

Classes are held in Ballet, Tap and Freestyle for children and adults, including a Baby Ballet Class for children aged 2 and a half upwards, and adult tap classes.

Exam sessions are held throughout the school. The school works to the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) syllabus. The IDTA is a member of the British Dance Council Sport and Recreation Alliance and the Theatre Dance Council for Dance Education and Training International. The IDTA and the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) have embarked on a process of working together to the mutual benefit of their members in both teacher education and training.

The school aims to give pupils enjoyable classes and at the same time enable them to grow in self confidence. We welcome people of all ages and abilities, and do our best to ensure that our classes provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment to learn. Our dance teachers within the school hold teaching/associate qualifications (IDTA), and the teachers are supported by students/assistants within the classes.

Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. Baby Ballet runs on a Wednesday afternoon, and Adult Tap classes are run on Thursdays and Fridays. For more information on class times and costs, please contact;
