General information

Architect Garry Thomas is renown for creating contemporary houses in open countryside and designing innovative new economic uses for redundant agricultural buildings in rural locations.

Garry founded Thomas Studio to bring professionalism, architecture, and planning together in a single workspace.

Today Thomas Studio collaborates, including architects, engineers, and planning consultants, working from a combined studio in Herefordshire, The West Midlands, London and the South West.

Rather than identifying with any particular style or aesthetic, Thomas Studio is best characterized by its working methodology. The studio is founded on the principles of good client service, a professional approach and of course creating and making buildings.

Garry’s completed projects include a number of nationally celebrated buildings, including the award-winning Beechcroft house and a mouthwateringly-crispy-edged barn conversion filmed by Kevin McCloud for Grand Designs on Channel 4.

The studio is currently working on bespoke high-quality residential housing projects in Herefordshire and North Somerset. In 2016, Canwood Gallery, opened to the public, a contemporary barn conversion bringing a new creative use to several disused agricultural barns.
