General information

Our beautiful newly refurbished Grade II listed 8 bedroom hotel, bar and restaurant is located in the charming small market town of Battle in East Sussex.

A place where bar flies, book hoarders, booze hounds, art enthusiasts and jazz fiends can explore the dramatic coastline, ancient forests and fairy tale castles of the surrounding areas.

Sitting directly opposite the impressive gateway of the medieval Battle Abbey (the Country's most famous battlefield) the hotel is a British home from home, a place to relax and enjoy simple English food and hospitality at its best.

Our chef specialises in sourcing fresh and local produce from the boat, farm and allotment. From local ales and art to breakfast bags and hampers, our customers can relax in the knowledge that they can enjoy the relics and ruins from the past in a place of comfort and charm.

Our Sunday Roasts are proving legendary. Served between 12 and 5pm.

Our attentive and talented bar members can sing/strum a tune or two whilst enjoying the English Summer in glass; choosing from our uncomplicated menu of old school cocktails.

With an array of music and art events, all family members are welcome including our faithful old friends, dogs.

We are proud to house the largest wild garden in Battle, bordering the 1066 walk.
