Harrogate Homeless Project Company Information
General information
Harrogate Homeless Project is an independent charity that was founded by Harrogate Churches Together in 1991 in order to try and alleviate the growing number of people sleeping rough in the district. The project operates from two sites. Firstly we have a 16 bed direct access hostel on Bower Street, secondly we have our day centre; Springboard on Oxford Street. Between the two sites, Harrogate Homeless Project aims to provide multifaceted support to homeless and vulnerably housed people who are connected to the area and help them to move on to independent living. The project is able to give 24 hr support to residents in the hostel all year round. We also aim to provide 24 hr emergency intervention for rough sleepers through taking up the No Second Night Out scheme in October 2012.
Although partly funded by statutory bodies, the project relies heavily on the support and generosity of the local community in order to provide the high level of support we aim for. There are many different ways in which members of the public are able to help us, please see our donations page for more information. The project also depends on the dedication of our team of volunteers. Based at the hostel or at Springboard our volunteers play a vital role in the smooth running of both sites and have a huge impact on the people we help.
