ABR is a gentle, hands-on treatment, performed by parents and carers, who learn the ABR technique and receive an individually tailored programme of movements from ABR professional staff.

Unlike conventional NHS treatments, we use no drugs, no invasive techniques, no botox injections and no surgery. And unlike almost all existing methods - which tend to focus on the functional ‘training’ of the brain injured individual, attempting to achieve optimal function despite the poor qualities of the musculoskeletal structure - ABR sets about normalising the musculoskeletal system first. This opens a new dimension in the treatment of the mildest to the most severe motor dysfunctions with its gentle, hands-on method of manual applications to the child's body.

The unique ABR therapy is set to come to Scotland early next month. Inspired by the dramatic progress made by young Marten McFee his support team, called "Marten's Progress", have reached an agreement with Europe's largest ABR operation, ABR Belgium, to begin assessing children and training parents and carers commencing March 2013.
