General information

Established in 1959, Pinneys is now a 3rd generation, award winning, family run business that pride itself in the quality of their products due to the experience and understanding that they have gained both in fishing and smoking. The smokehouses are still the original houses built by Richard Pinney, located next to the river Alde in Orford, Suffolk. Their unique method of smoking uses whole oak logs that smoulder gently and they remain true to the old fashioned, traditional way to flavour and preserve, without any additional ingredients other than smoke and salt.

The salmons are bought in from the highly approved Westeross Farm in Scotland (RSPCA approved), keeping their salmons in sea waters where they are able to swim against the tides. In addition to the salmon, Pinneys have a very long standing relationship with all their other suppliers ensuring that all their products come from a reliable and respected source before smoking, which is extremely important to uphold the quality that is expected. They also have their own lobster pots and oyster beds, and still fish daily for the catch of the day.

Over the years Pinneys have had many write ups in nearly all of the major national broadsheets, foodie magazines as well as being on television (Hairy Bikers & Country tracks to name a couple).
