General information
The Diocese of Exeter is a network of 120 mission communities and 506 parishes in cities, towns and rural communities across Devon.
The Diocese of Exeter is often described as the Church of England in Devon as the borders of the diocese correspond almost exactly with the county boundaries.
Within the Diocese, there are thousands of worshippers participating regularly in all forms of worship in over 600 churches. The Diocese is divided into four archdeaconries.
The work of the church in the Diocese is overseen by the Bishop of Exeter; assisting him are the two 'Suffragan' Bishops, who have special responsibility for the 'Sees' of Crediton and Plymouth respectively.
