Welcome To Spectrum Leisure & Community

Our charity, SLAM CDT, took over the running of the Spectrum Leisure Centre from Wear Valley District Council in July 2007.

Since then we have heavily invested in the building and the land around it. For those who might not have visited us for while you will be surprised at just how much we have achieved; new reception, three brand new gyms, redevelopment of the old ski-slope into a regional standard BMX track, a new multipurpose function room and new cafe to name just a few.

Spectrum is still at the heart of the local community and we’re working hard to offer a good range of high quality, affordable sporting and non-sporting activities covering all ages and abilities.

The Spectrum team consists of 9 members of staff and some keen and kind volunteers with the overall support of 6 Trustees who meet regularly to set priorities and manage the organisation. We have recently taken over the running of the all facilities after school at Parkside Academy so can now offer sports, community and adult learning facilities at both sites.

The Board of Trustees and staff would like to welcome customers both old and new to the bright new future of the Spectrum Leisure and Community Centre and we’re sure you will find something you will love.
