General information

Loreburn Housing Association is a registered charity and Registered Social Landlord regulated by the Scottish Housing Regulator.

Loreburn was first established in 1982 and has since grown to now owning and managing over 2,500 homes across Dumfries & Galloway, from Langholm in the east to Stranraer in the west, with many developments in the rural communities of the region.

Following a full strategic review by our Management Committee and Executive Management Team in 2015, we have a refreshed vision, mission and set of strategic objectives, all aimed at creating great places to live and providing quality housing at affordable prices.

In 2014 we joined the Common Housing Register alongside DGHP, Irvine Housing and Home Scotland to utilise one single streamlined system for registering and selecting applicants. Only one form is now required to apply for all four landlords across Dumfries & Galloway.

We are proud to offer a range of accommodation across the region. In addition to our mainstream properties, our Supported Housing provides homes and professional support for young persons, older persons, and those individuals with complex needs. Registered and reviewed by the Care Inspectorate, our Support Services team has been providing client centred care to enhance the health and well being of our customers for over 25 years.

Our small private sector subsidiary, Dumfries & Galloway Homes, has around 40 properties for rent including some shops, university accommodation and other commercial premises. These properties are not allocated through the Common Housing Register.

Furthermore, a small proportion of our properties are available for Shared Ownership, in which customers can purchase tranches of their property in 25% steps.

We also manage the Care & Repair service on behalf of Dumfries & Galloway Council, which helps older or disabled home owners and private tenants to live independently.
