Access In Dudley

General information

We are a group of volunteers, who are predominately disabled people but everyone is welcome.

We campaign for the rights of disabled people when appropriate. We have also been co-opted onto many other consultation groups to offer our expertise as disabled people. Our subgroup looks at planning applications in terms of access issues for public buildings or those buildings where the public frequent such as shops, offices and schools.

As a voluntary organisation with limited funding we are always looking for volunteers to join our happy band, as well as different sources of funding to help us continue to make a difference in our local community.

Members of A.I.D. also represent our disabled community on many other consultation groups and forums. We also host the Dudley Disability Network, bringing together other disabled user led organisations (ULO) groups twice a year , so that we can share knowledge and information as well as views.

As a group that has to operate on a very tight budget, we are constantly looking for income opportunities and to that end we are able to offer the following services for a nominal fee:
Access walk & talk audits
Disability Awareness Training
Information production in alternate formats including some training
Audio & Braille
Other services on request
