General information
Spectrum provides after school clubs, holiday playschemes and a youth club for children aged 3 - 16 from the Dundee area.
These clubs make a profound difference to the lives of families affected by ASD. The children can access social opportunities in an environment sympathetic to their autism specific needs. This helps them to develop their social skills, become more independent and gain confidence.
Parents also face tremendous amounts of stress because they have to give so much time and attention to their autistic child and this often means that they are unable to give enough time to each other or any other children in the family. The time away at the Spectrum provides families with some space to address these issues and so dealmore effectively with the challenges that arise.
