Welcome to our Facebook Page, an information portal to provide communication from ourselves to the Friends of Blackness community.
Friends of Blackness was formed from the merging of the PTA and the Parent Council in October 2013 and aims to bring together parents, teachers and other members of our school community interested in getting more involved with school life. Friends of Blackness organise social events for our children and families and raise valuable funds to help the school provide additional resources that enrich our kids’ school experience. Last year we were able to buy two ovens, induction hobs and cooking resources for use by the children in the school and more recently we were able to buy 6 Android tablet devices for use in the classroom with funds raised.
We hope that this Facebook Page will be a great way to keep families informed about what Friends of Blackness are up to in relation to ongoing activities and forthcoming events. We are always looking for Friends who would like to get involved at any level, so look out for event announcements, updates regarding school and Friends activities and opportunities to get involved and help out.
