Our business is to help you look and feel fabulous. We believe the most important person in the salon is you.

We never stop learning and perfecting our techniques, embrace change and continually progress to stay ahead.

Michelle and Beverley are currently studying in London at Schwarzkopf Academy for the Royal Colour Masters Degree, and will have completed it by August 2017.

Within the Salon we create from the height of contemporary fashion to timeless classic elegance. When visiting the Cutting Box you will expect to receive from the team exceptional service and knowledge, feel comfortable, cared for listened to and ultimately valued.

REWIND... NEARLY THIRTY YEARS...

Michelle started her apprenticeship at Feathers under well-respected Sandra Featherstone. She was an excellent coach, and inspired Michelle to support her work with training at the L'Oreal Technical Centre, then later with Debbie Digby, a real innovator in the hairdressing industry for 365.

Michelle competed on the competition circuit and was entered in the L'Oreal Colour Trophy when she was only eighteen years old. This opened her eyes to the variety of the hairdressing industry and a taste for demonstrating, leading onto becoming a salon trainer and manager.

In 2013, after a few years working in Spain and a brief period of location session styling, The Cutting Box, Bocking in Essex was established.

FAST FORWARD....

The Cutting Box, Bocking, Essex started in 2013 with Beverley Jarvis and Lisette Shuffield, both experienced colourists. The team believe everyone should be treated as an individual. Never to create a colour or shape that would wash out or change shape. Styles should be simple and practical and easy to recreate every day.

We believe in constantly improving our skills and attend courses in London and locally. Michelle has attended courses with Lisa Shepherd (three times Colourist of the Year) and Tim Hartman (Head of Vidal Sassoon) and more recently with regular training through the Schwarzkopf Ask Academy in London.

At the Cutting Box, Bocking in Essex our aim is to make every client feel welcome, relaxed and to leave with a smile.
