QE is a successful school with a rich and proud history, where students make good and outstanding progress.

Spread across two separate sites, the school currently houses nearly 1,400 students - 300 of whom are in its 'outstanding' Sixth Form.

The Barnfield Campus, with its beautiful grounds and views across to Dartmoor, houses years 7 and 8. This safe and secure environment allows younger students to thrive and comfortably find their feet, as they adjust to secondary education in a calm and friendly atmosphere.

The Western Road Campus houses Year 9 to 13 in an eclectic mix of buildings. The two prosperous boarding houses are also located here, making Queen Elizabeth’s the only state boarding school in Devon.

Queen Elizabeth’s aims to get the absolute best out of staff and students alike. This is achieved by providing a harmonious environment, based upon the principle of mutual respect.

Our approach to learning builds students’ confidence - we work hard to ensure that each child is treated as a unique individual and given the support they need to make progress.
