General information
Viva works very hard to generate its own income.
In 2008 it purchased premises, The Viva Charity shop, 7 CHURCHGATE STREET, Soham.
The charity shop sells clothes, toys, household goods and furniture which provides some core funds for the youth theatre.
However, the organisation costs much more to run, so we work hard to fundraise too.
Viva Arts and Community Group began life as a small youth theatre run by a team of volunteers.
Now Viva Youth Theatre stages a least two major productions a year playing to audiences of up to 1000, and for the past seven years Viva Touring has taken shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The awards keep coming, the latest being the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – The MBE for Voluntary Groups.
An adult theatre group (Viva Theatre Company) was established in 2007 – also an award winner and today it has 30 members who perform at least two productions a year.
